21 to 75 years – Customers who fall outside the age limitations will not be able to hire a Vehicle. (A select few vehicles are 18+)

Driver’s license
Drivers must have the appropriate category for the vehicle they want to rent. Non-Roman alphabet licenses (e.g., Arabic, Greek, Cyrillic, or Chinese) need an International Driving Permit and domestic license. For licenses from non-treaty countries, provide an official translation along with the original license.

Deposit & Credit Card Information
Accepted: MasterCard, Maestro, Visa (not debit or prepaid). Valid credit card in lead driver’s name required for security deposit. Failure to provide valid card, insufficient funds, or mismatched name may result in refusal to release vehicle. No reimbursement for funds paid in such cases. Debit/credit card authorizations may take up to 31 business days. Rental agency not liable for unreleased funds by client’s bank.

Security Deposits are accepted by Card (Refundable 31 days from block) or Cash (Refundable 24 hrs after return)
Drivers’ liability on all Full Comp vehicles is the insurance claim excess.
Drivers’ liability on all Third-party vehicles is capped at 2’000 Euros.
The Excess and Liability is the car rental supplier’s determined amount for which you are responsible in case of vehicle damage/theft. Tires, windscreens, glass, and undercarriage damage/loss are not covered by the security deposit.

Optional Waiver on Cars & Vans
Less Liability Waiver Package Cars: 15 EUR per day/ Vans: 20 EUR per day. Drop Security Deposit & Excess to €300

Waiver Scooters & Motorbikes – Starting @€120 for 1 day. Drops damage liability.

Assisted Towing Service – 22480200 (Third party company, Not ST Rentals)
If a tow truck is needed for mechanical failure/accident, the responsible driver must stay with the vehicle until tow truck arrives. ST Rentals will cover the cost of towing services in the event of a mechanical failure. However, if the issue arises from client negligence, such as a puncture, running out of fuel, losing or broken keys, etc., the towing service charge of €50 will be at the client’s expense.

Vehicle Engine Checks on Return
Upon return, the vehicles exterior will be inspected. Internal and unforeseen engine damage due to misconduct will be assessed by our mechanic the next day. ST Rentals may contact the client and hold them responsible for any post-return damages.

Test Drive You Vehicle
All vehicles are to be test driven prior to leaving ST Rentals booking office. The driver/liable person 
agrees the Vehicle is in good working condition & drives straight, without any indication of pulling to any given side.

Special Equipment/Optional Extras (on request)
2 Helmets: Included, Phone holder: Included, Booster seat: €5 per day (deposit €25), Child toddler seat: €10 per day (deposit €50), GPS: €7 per day, Additional Driver: €5 per day.

Conditions of Optional Extras
Optional extras’ prices may change and availability is not guaranteed. Charges at the desk may include local surcharges. Client is liable for payment of damages to extras & should request for these extras to be remove if they do not want liability.

Travel Restrictions
No international crossings allowed. Vehicles limited to Malta & Gozo islands. Gozo travel at driver’s risk. Insurance towing in Gozo available, but driver pays ferry fees. ST Rentals not liable for time wasted or rental fee refunds for returning to Malta.

Maltese Roads €100 Penalty
All vehicles are to be used only on tarmacked roads and no vehicle is to be used Off-road. There is a €100 fine for anyone caught irresponsibly using any vehicle, this includes driving off-road.
 All vehicles are allowed to be driven on all roads on the island. There are CVA charges for entering the centre of Valletta. Most parking is public, public parking is displayed with a White Box (NOT yellow, blue or green) Still, be aware of signs displaying parking restrictions on certain dates and within certain times.

Steering Lock €100 Penalty
Failure to lock the ATV/scooter’s steering while rented may result in theft. ST Rentals has the right to cancel the contract without a refund and impose a €100.00 penalty on the responsible driver.

Wet Seats €150 Penalty
If any Car or Van is returned with wet seats there will be a €150 cleaning fee.

Fuel Policy
Your vehicle comes with a full tank of fuel. To avoid fuel charges, return it with the same amount. Missing fuel will be charged, potentially at a higher rate than local stations. A €5 re-fueling charge applies. Fuel charges are payable at desk. ALL VEHICLES take UNLEADED PETROL No.95, only NISSAN 7 seater takes DIESEL.

Citations
All citations for the registered vehicle(s) must be paid by the client to the rental agency. The client cannot personally handle citation payments and must settle the citation fee along with €5 in administration charges at the rental desk before departure.

Fees for Misconduct: ST Rentals reserves the right to charge fees for any misconduct or misuse of the vehicle. This includes reckless driving, unauthorized modifications, overloading, allowing unauthorized drivers, non-compliance with laws, smoking, and negligence. Fees may cover damages, repairs, towing, administrative costs, fines, loss of rental income, and other reasonable expenses.

Long Let clause: Rental exceeding 30 days
Scooters must be returned for service once the mileage under the seat is reached. Failure to bring the vehicle for service as indicated will make the official driver listed on the rental agreement fully liable for any resulting damages, including engine damage.

Vehicle types
The vehicles displayed, and the models listed are the most common vehicles used by our car rental partners. We cannot guarantee the make or model of the rental vehicle will be the same as the vehicle displayed on our website.

Rental Periods
Minimum rental period: 1 day (1-24 hours). Pick-up from 09:00 AM – Latest return 17:00 PM. Late return results in extra day charge. Agreement signing and vehicle checks take approximately 30 minutes.
For vehicles rented between 9AM and 12PM, latest return the following morning 9AM.
For vehicles rented between 12PM and 3PM, latest return the following day 11AM.

Mileage Policy – Unlimited.
Tax Rate – 18% – Included in the rental price.
Form of Identification – A valid Driving License.
Fees – Please note credit card fees apply. Fees vary per card type, please check with the supplier at the desk.

Cancellations, refunds & No-Show Policy:
No refunds after rental begins. Vehicle exchange possible if available, in case of breakdown.
1- Cancellation up to 3 days (72 hours) before rental: Full refund minus €50 fee (or no refund if payment less than €50).
2- Cancellation within last 2 days (24 hrs) or failure to cancel: No refund.
3 – Refusal of rental without refund, if driver arrives late or lacks required documentation/credit card funds for Security Deposit.
